Sears gas station museum insert

A step back in time! Restored 1929 gas station, originally built by Howard P. Sears, Sr. The museum is part of an effort to revitalize downtown historic district of Rome, NY and dedicated to the original service station owner. Housed in a clean, white building with red-tiled roof, the service station is filled with items from the original gas station, such as gas pumps, nozzles, cans of Sears branded oil, as well as odds and ends from the era that this gas station was in use. Outside are old fashioned, white and red gas pumps with clock faces and glass globes that advertise Sears’ name for his own brand of gasoline, TriPure, as well as fence-mounted billboards, porcelain signs, authentic light poles and fixtures.
